Church of Agia Paraskevi in Kandila

The church is located 10 km from Kandila. It dates back to the 11th century AD. It is a very impressive church, one part of which is built inside a cave. Agia Paraskevi is celebrated on July 26.

It is a beautiful, Byzantine, stone monastery, with stunning views of Astakos. During the revolution of 1821 it functioned as the base of the famous George Karaiskakis.
